May 25,2011 Pulled our anchor & left Back Creek (Annapolis) around 8 am. It was sad to say good-bye to this beautiful city. Headed out the Severn River & back into the Chesapeake Bay. It was a nice, calm morning on the Bay. Scooted under the Bay Bridge & picked up the shipping channel heading toward the eastern shore. Played cat 'n mouse for awhile with a tug/barge until he finally decided to pick up some speed. We cruised along just outside of the channel until he went past us. Then we just followed his wake up the rest of the Bay. Went by the turn for Baltimore (Patapsco River), Kent Island, Gun Powder River, Sassafras River, Bohemia River & into the C&D Canal (it connects the Chesapeake & Delaware Bay) It sure seems like the canal gets really small when a huge ship goes past you. Found an anchorage in Chesapeake City before the rush hour traffic (lots of boats in a small basin on the side of the Canal) We had visited here a few years ago when we were looking at another boat. The boat is still here (still for sale) & the city is just as eclectic as we remember it. 55 miles today. We expect an early evening as we need to leave tomorrow at 6am to catch the high tide when we sleigh ride down the Delaware Bay.
