May 22, 23 & 24,2011 Still enjoying Annapolis at it's finest. Sunday we finished cleaning the goop off of our boat & then went to pick up our guests in the dinghy. Pete, Lauren & Finny (their dog) came to see our boat. We enjoyed appetizers & champagne on the boat deck. It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon. I received belated Mother's Day cards & flowers. We then went ashore & headed to Mike's-the best Maryland Crab restaurant in the area. Gardner & Pete got their fill of crabs. It was a short visit but they had to get back to DC for work tomorrow. We woke up Monday morning & decided to treat ourselves to a bike ride. It took awhile to put the bikes together, jimmy them into the dinghy & motor ashore. But it was all worth it. It was a couple of miles of busy Annapolis streets but then we entered into Quiet Waters County Park. It used to be an old farm that the county converted to a multi usage park-hiking, biking, playgrounds, etc. The paved paths took us all the way to the South River. We splurged on an ice cream on the way back to the boat. It looked like we were going to get a thunderstorm but it seemed to dissipate before it got to us(that is the second day that happened). It was windy but no rain. Tuesday morning we pulled anchor & motored over to the fuel dock. Time for another 300 gallons of diesel. We spent the rest of the morning working on the spot/flood light that we had ordered a new motor for. Unfortunately, it still didn't work after Gardner installed the motor. Further investigation proved there is a bad connection. So we still don't have an operating spotlight. But that wil come soon. We decided we done enough work for the day, jumped in the dinghy & headed to downtown Annapolis. Unfortunately, it was so hot & humid we were less than enthusiastic about hiking up & down the streets. The old buildings remind us of Bunker Hill in Boston. We did treat ourselves to an ice cream (we're getting good at that) & headed back out on the water in our dinghy. We are preparing to leave in the morning for Chesapeake City (on the C&D Canal) We hate to leave Annapolis but it's time to be on our way again towards New England.
