May 20,2011 Left Solomon's Island at 8 am. Wound our way back out to the Pautuxent River & into the Chesapeake. It was cold & windy so we decided to forego the upper helm for the comfort of the pilot house. After all, isn't that why we have a "pilot house trawler"? Stayed in the main shipping channel & cruised by Little Chop Tank River, Tilghman Island & the entrance to . the Eastern Bay (where our favorite spot is-St. Michael's) Saw lots of strange military looking installations & buildings. We went by many little fishing boats. They had the strangest looking gear-remote controlled floats that took the fishing lines & moved them out from the boat. Never saw such things before. As we approached Kent Island we could see Thomas Point Lighhouse off of our port (left for those non-boaters) We knew we were close to Annapolis. Shortly after that we turned west into the Severn river. Annapolis has many good anchorages so it was a tough decision . We choose the Back Creek (just like last night in Solomon's) because it was the closest & had best access to town. Droppped our hook in the middle of the creek, surrounded by tons of marinas. We are meeting our brokers from Selene so we can go out "on the town". Looking forward to a couple of days here in Annapolis. 54 miles today.
