April 18,2011 Pulled up a very muddy (& smelly) anchor this morning around 8 am. in Titusville (mile 878 ICW) Continued cruising north along the Indian River. Passed through the Canaveral Haulover canal (used to move the space ships) & into Mosquito Lagoon. Was advised not to stop there unless we were going fishing (too many bugs) The ICW gets very narrow & shallow in some places. Passed through New Smyrna Beach, around the Ponce de Leon Inlet with light house & on northward to Daytona Beach (mile 831 ICW). Good old "Skipper Bob" (our anchorage guidebook) found us a good place to drop the hook (albeit a little shallow) & we took a dinghy ride to Halifax Harbor. Picked up gas for the dink, dropped off our garbage & stopped at Gardner's favorite store: West Marine. Now he has parts so he can work on a few little fix its.Enjoyed a beverage at the dockside bar & chatted with some folks who are also cruising the ICW, too. Everyone we met is very friendly.
