Us early 60's, retired, Caryl from a hr career at Yale Univ. and Gardner from the computer industry with a post retirement minor in bicycle retailing and repair. Four wonderful adult children spread along the east coast from Georgetown,MD ,NYC ,Old Saybrook , CT to Charlton,MA .

Over the next few months or years we intend to sell our home ( done Sept 2nd 2010) on the river and marsh. purchase a ocean capable trawler,Done Jan. 26 2011move aboard and join the cruising life. This has been a lifelong dream for gardner and one that caryl has come to embrace over our 25 years together.
With this blog we hope to document the journey at each step along the path. Right now the economy has thrown us a bit of a curve as there is very little demand for a home like ours as well as stock holdings taking a nose dive. It may delay our progress not stop it. With the sale of the house we were on the path!

Great pic - good idea to have a blog - easy for the rest of us to keep up to date on where you are, etc. Now all you have to do is sell the house and GET THE BOAT! I vote for the one with the cherry woodwork. Although the one with the 'get home engine' really has its points - as in not getting stuck out at sea.
